Wow! can't believe that it's another new year awaiting. Woke up this morning after ushering in the New Year with my family and attended my birth church's 6 am prayer meeting which is now entering its 21st year running.
It was so neat to be with old church friends and sharing a devotion with Rev. Ropati who has been a good family friend over the years. It is definitely something I miss from the traditional churches in that in many of the mega churches one rarely gets the chance to meet regularly with the ministers unless they're in the leadership team and in their 'rockstar' like status but in smaller churches those relationships are built quite readily.
The devotion was about 'New Beginnings' and it was about refreshing and seeing what God has in store for us for the year, with the bible reading being in the first chapter of Ezra which discusses the temple in Jerusalem being rebuilt after 70 years of exile.
It reminded me in that although we have our plans for this new year that as we walk with God that He is able to guide us through the challenges and triumphs of this life no matter what it brings. And having good Christian friendships and relationships is also pivotal in being strengthened in this life for the next...
